Monday Back to Top
Pre-class Assignment
1. Study Lesson 1 of BB before the class. You
need to go through the lesson and study the new vocabulary, but you don't
need to know all the supplementary new words. I will check your preparation
by conducting dictation or asking comprehension questions about the
lesson when you come to class.
2. Listen to the recordings for Lesson 1 of BB.
During-Class Activities
1. Take turns describing/guessing the childhood
experience of one person in the class. The description should consist
of at least two parts, a) a general statement such as he was very
honest, and b) some specific hypothetical details to support the
general statement. If none of the students wants to be the first
person to be described, the teacher can volunteer to be the first
person.
2. After each description/guessing, the person
being described should either confirm or reject by providing specific examples
or more details.
3. There will be some meaningful teacher-led
pattern drills with the new words and sentence patterns of the lesson.
4. Q&A about the lesson.
5. Spend some time discussing the topics following
the text.
