Using Interlibrary Loan
What is it?
Interlibrary Loan allows you to request items that normally cannot
be checked out from other libraries.
When do I use it?
When neither CONSORT nor OhioLINK libraries have the book you need*,
OR when you're looking for an article that appears in a journal that
Kenyon does not own.
How do I use it?
Go to http://lbis.kenyon.edu/ill
for complete information. Click on the link for Make an Interlibrary
Loan Request and fill in the information. If you found the citation
for the article in a database, such as Index to Journal Articles, or
the Social Science Citation Index, include this information.
How long does it take?
An ILL transaction can take as little as 48 hours (OhioLINK) or up
to 3-4 weeks (out-of-state), depending on several factors, including
the time of year and current workload, degree of difficulty in locating,
who owns, availability, mail service, etc.
*Remember that you have access to 8 million books in OhioLINK; if you
can't find a book you need, check with a librarian for help.
