Pre-class Assignment
1. Study Lesson 2 of BB before the class. You
need to go through the lesson and study the new vocabulary, but you don't
need to know all the supplementary new words. I will check your preparation
by conducting dictation or asking comprehension questions about the
lesson when you come to class.
2. Listen to the recordings for Lesson 2 of BB.
3. Prepare a few pictures of people that you feel we will all enjoy
talking about (e.g. the president, the first lady, Confucius...) and take
them to the class on Monday.
During-Class Activities
1. Show-and-tell: use a picture of a person and describe
the person's appearance, personality and so on. The description should
consist of a general statement and some supporting details. When the show-and-tell
is done, others ask questions. If students have different opinions about
the person, the teacher should encourage debates among the students.
2. Teacher-led pattern drills with the new words
and sentence patterns of the lesson.
3. Q&A about the lesson.
4. Spend some time discussing the topics following
the text.
Post-class Assignments
1. Do Exercises 1-3 of BB Lesson 2 and turn them in by the end of Tue.

can do it either orally or in written form. This is part is due Friday.
